Manager of Database Development Needed in Salt Lake City!

Phase 3 seeks an experienced Manager of Database Development and Administration, specifically a hands-on developer and DBA who can lead and mentor staff DBAs and MySQL developers.
Our client is a leader in marketing and technology services and this position will have the opportunity to make a difference in helping people through technology. The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams that design, implement, and maintain MySQL databases and related applications. This role will also include leading efforts to debug, monitor, and support the enterprise Java, PHP, and C# applications, while working closely with the Operations, Development and QA teams in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.

Required skills and abilities

3+ years of management experience (software and database development)

5+ years of experience with heavy MySQL database administration

Experience with MySQL 5.0/5.1 development

Previous experience with SQLServer 2005 and 2008, as well as Oracle 10g

Experience with SAN

Detail oriented with the ability to provide mentoring and constructive feedback to direct reports

Experience in a 24/7 production environment

Familiarity with Agile Development Practices

Preferred

B.S. in Computer Science or similar quantitative discipline

Strong experience with Linux (Ubuntu, Gentoo and CentOS)

Strong scripting ability in PHP and console usage
