Phase 3 Recruiting seeks Sr. Software Architects for new full-time direct-hire jobs in Austin, TX. The open roles are with one of our international clients, a casino gaming company with its U.S. headquarters in Las Vegas. The Software Architect position is responsible initial design and development of new software or extensive software revisions. Provides architectural and big picture oversight on products. He or she is considered an expert in software development.
Responsibilities
Work with Principal Software Engineers, other Software Architects, Product Managers, product developers, subject matter experts and others on system architecture and interface development.
Define technical product requirements and creates high-level architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality and integration with existing systems/platforms.
Provide technical advice to other departments within the organization.
May be responsible for integrating components build by product developers.
Work as a member of a project team to analyze use cases, produce detailed design, code, test, debug, configure and document software.
Write unit, regression, load and stress tests to verify software programs. Prepare any test data required.
Mentors and guides less able or junior members of the development team.
May guide a team of developers through the project.
Follows Company programming standards.
Follows Company design methodology using UML when required.
Prepares weekly goals, reports progress to line manager.
May perform design and development tasks on embedded software devices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience: Requires a minimum of seven years’ experience in writing Windows programs using a major OOP Windows programming language (such as Visual C++, C#, with C# strongly preferred). 5+ years of .NET experience. 5+ years of experience with OOA/D methodologies, database programming using SQL with SQL Server. 5+ years experience with multi-tier programming. Experience with an agile development methodology, preferably Scrum. Prior experience in the game development is required.
Demonstrates strong technical judgment.
Must have strong analytical and creative problem solving skills.
Demonstrates excellent oral and written, communication and customer service skills.
Demonstrates an extremely high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Must have strong communication skills, able to work independently and be team oriented.
This position may require registration with the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) and/or other gaming jurisdictions.
