Wanted: Hands-on Software Engineering Manager!
 
Phase 3 seeks strong candidates for a direct-hire Software Engineering Manager for top Nevada employer.  The selected Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the complex analysis, design, documentation and testing of new products and/or customer applications. She/he will also manage the determination of algorithm, code, testing and debugging of desktop and server application software applications.  Interfaces with other groups to add new or custom features to company products as required.
 
ESSENTIAL MANAGMENT FUNCTIONS:
Design and documentation of new desktop and server application software
Design and estimation of time frames for developing and testing software
Production and maintenance of design documentation
Establishing functional requirements for ideas, research and feasibility input
Performs budget and resource allocation forecasts
 
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the sustaining engineering department in regard to product redesign to resolve product or production issues.
 
Support customer services with field issues as required
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BS in Software Engineering or Computer Science required
MS a plus
Requires 10 or more years of experience in software development including management of software development engineers designing software for Windows and Linux desktop and server systems
Manufacturing, currency validation and gaming industry experience are all preferred
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires good written and verbal communication in English and demonstrated success in leading a team environment.
 
Requires the ability to read and understand digital and analog schematics and to understand and implement hardware interfacing requirements.
 
Technical requirements include the ability to design, implement and manage the development of software from a specification and knowledge of C, C++, plus one or more of the following skill sets:

1.    Java programming in a Linux and Windows environment (Preferred)

2.    Generating MSSQL and MySQL databases and appropriate queries and scripts

3.    Generating reports via Crystal Reports and JasperSoft (or similar tool)

4.    Familiar with the use of iReports and similar tools

5.    Familiar with compliant communication languages and methods such as HTTP, XML, SSL
