Phase 3 seeks Game Programmers for our client a prospering gaming software company based in Austin, TX.  We are  looking for talented C++ programmers to work for a leading supplier of interactive systems, electronic games, and player terminals for the Casino and Resort industry. The company designs and develops networks, software and content that provide its customers with comprehensive gaming systems delivered through a telecommunications network that links its player terminals with one another both within and among gaming facilities. The Company's ongoing development and marketing efforts focus on Class II and Class III gaming systems and products for use in gaming markets in various countries and on video lottery systems and other products for domestic and international lotteries.
 
Summary:
Design, modify, and implement casino game software.
Implement and maintain core game systems.
Create unit tests and validation procedures, and document technical specifications.
Verifies that the design is fully implemented and performs as expected, with minimal rework.
Defects identification and resolution.
Identify own tasks and timelines to complete programming objectives.
Provide technical mentorship to other team members.
Manage their own time, plan their own work, and meet deadlines.
Interfaces with Quality Assurance, Game Producers, Game Designers, Artists, Mathematicians, and Sound Designers.
 
Required Skills/Experience
Requires a BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years experience programming in C++.
Experience using Microsoft Visual C++ for commercial software development.
Thorough knowledge and practical application of object-oriented modeling, design, and development.
Demonstrated history of initiative, detail-oriented, and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and part of a team, with minimal supervision.
Knowledge and practical application of software development practices such as agile software development, feature driven development, and SDLC.
Knowledge of source/revision control systems such as Perforce.
Experience using design patterns and UML modeling preferred.
Game Development experience is preferred.

Art Designer

Phase 3 Recruiting is looking for a highly motivated and productive Art Designer for a direct-hire position with our client in Las Vegas, NV.  Primary responsibilities include researching, designing, and developing art work for media used to explain or enhance games created for casinos.  This will involve determining style, technique and medium in order to produce the desired effect while conforming to reproduction requirements. 

Requirements
  • Create and/or enhance drawings as well as computer generated symbols or characters
  • Provide 2D and 3D user interface screens and typefaces for incorporation into final games
  • Creates, colors and touches up game-ready electronic artwork
  • Contributes innovative and original ideas to game or art team
  • Provides background art or color specialties
  • Finishes layout, complementary portion of artwork to design team, or modifies art characters under tight deadlines
  • Consults with game designer to develop and complete game themes
  • Reports to senior management
  • Complies with company’s regulatory guidelines and corporate policies at all times
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding the company, products and employee information
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Graphic Design, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Art institute certifications or awards desirable.
  • 3-5 years related experience and/or training. 
  • Strong life drawing skills and experience
  • Clear understanding of theme art, color, and gaming symbols
  • Photoshop, Illustrator, Director, Flash, MAYA 3D software are desirable
  • Gaming Industry experience desirable
