Phase 3 seeks experienced and successful Systems Design/Architecture Engineers for a new, mission-critical direct-hire position with our Texas-based client—a company that designs and develops networks, software, and content that provide its customers with comprehensive gaming systems delivered through a telecommunications network that links its player terminals with one another, both within and among gaming facilities. 

Qualified candidates will . . .
have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience.
architect and design complex frameworks for highly available and fault tolerant systems.
define technological processes for high performance platforms.
generate system specifications.
estimate input/output throughput parameters.
specify compatibility requirements for hardware and software elements.

Responsibilities
Accountable to architect, plan, engineer, design, implement and manage highly-available fault-tolerant infrastructures for production systems that are highly regulated and ducts large volumes of transactions involving large amounts of currency to include the following system models:
Co-Located Data Centers
Wide  Area Networks Centralized and Fail-Over systems
Standalone Systems on closed networks
Distributed computing, storage and collaborating elements
Network, Security and Storage Appliances
Virtual Machine implementation

Experienced in establishing policies and procedures pertaining to product configuration, management, security, maintenance, capacity and utilization in for production systems.

Perform cost trade off to select the most cost effective solution that satisfies the requirements.

Develop algorithms that partition requirements into discrete subsets to minimize interaction between machines and users.

Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key strategic partners from within our product development departments, and manufacturing organization.

Monitor, report and articulate key infrastructure performance metrics.

Accountable for providing technical leadership and direction to others working on design and deployment efforts.

Participate in the establishment and adherence of standards to ensure high quality product development.

Proficiency in Software Requirements and Methodologies, Software Design, Software Configuration Management, Software Engineering Process and Software Engineering Management and Software Engineering Quality.

Qualifications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to build consensus, the ability to articulate complex technical detail and tradeoffs presentations to expert audiences and the aptitude to brief non-technical audiences.
10+ years of experience in selecting, design engineering, solution engineering, project engineering, integrating and implementing infrastructure technologies & services, data center consolidation and related technologies.
Strong background and understanding of the technical direction and the prevailing standards for technologies in scope including data center design.
7+ years of Cisco Switch and Router configuration and management including Wide Area Networks
7+ years of Windows 2003/2008 Server and Network administration including Microsoft Clustering
7+ year of Microsoft .NET development and protocol expertise
7+ years of experience administering MS SQL Server databases
5+ years of experience with VM technologies
5+ years of experience implementing and maintaining co-located data centers

Education
BS degree (CS, EE, or similar)

Desirable
Additional industry training, achievement or certification.
Exposure to JScript, C++/C#, HTML, XML, Visual Studio, IIS, SNMP, SMTP, TAP, SOAP, Web Services, OOP or other technical skills.
